We are down to 2! The AFLW season is drawing to its conclusion, with the Grand Final taking place on Saturday afternoon between the Adelaide Crows and the Melbourne Football Club at Adelaide oval.

It is fair to say that without doubt the 2 best sides of the season are meeting in what will be without question a blockbuster Grand Final. Both sides with a 9-1 record, Adelaide being minor premiers only on percentage, only loss coming against the Dogs by 1-point in round 6. Melbourne’s only loss of the season was to the Crows, so they will be hungry to avenge that defeat and bring home an historic AFLW flag.

The key players include:

Ash Woodland, the leading goal kicker in the competition, with 22-goals. She will want to fire up forward.

Along side her Erin Phillips can help the scoring power down forward.

Tayla Harris, appearing in her 3rd Grand Final, at her 3rd club, all against the same opponent. She has 18 goals so far this year, she had a quiet Preliminary Final, but will want a break out Grand Final and lead Melbourne down forward.

Daisy Pearce- A key to Melbourne’s chances. She is electric through the midfield and down forward when she gets going.

The Crows are in their 4th Grand Final, aiming for their 3rd AFLW premiership. They will be looking to rebound from their loss in last years decider to the Brisbane Lions. The Demons are in their 1st ever AFLW Grand Final and looking to make history, and become the 1st side to have both their mens and women’s teams premiers at the same time.

The Crows start favourites at $1.60, which is understandable considering their latest form. The Demons start at $2.28. Remember to gamble responsibly.

Prediction: A close contest, with Melbourne getting over the line by 15-points, Tayla Harris and Daisy Peace firing, as Melbourne bring home an historic AFLW premiership.
