North sit last on the table, with one win from 16 games. Facing Richmond in eighth position with a 9-7 record. Richmond have won four out of the last five clashes with North Melbourne.
Perhaps one of North’s most credible efforts for this year so far was their performance against Collingwood last week. They provided one of this years premership contenders, and a team that had won six straight games leading up to the clash a massive challenge. They led Collingwood by 26-points at the final change only to be overrun by seven-points. It has a been a massive week at the club, with the replacement of coach David Noble. Leigh Adams to caretake North for the remainder of the season, has a massive opportunity to rejuvenate the side against another top eight contender. With Jason Horne-Francis returning to the senior side another massive boost.
Richmond come into this clash after surrendering a 40-point lead to the Suns, being undone by Noah Anderson’s goal after the final siren. The Suns defeating Richmond by two-points.
Key players:
North Melbourne:
- Jason Horne-Francis
- Jack Ziebell
- Nick Larkey
Richmond:
- Jack Riewoldt
- Trent Cotchin
- Jack Graham
North Melbourne vs Richmond prediction:
There is a lot to consider for this prediction. It has been a torrid season for North, losses consistently by 40-points or way more. Last win barley scraping past West Coast all the way back in round 2. Now, they have a new caretaker coach, the number one pick returning to the side. Plus carrying momentum from their competitive performance where they showed a lot of promise against Collingwood, facing a Richmond side missing two of their stars in Dustin Martin and Tom Lynch.
Often when a new coach comes, it creates a whole new buzz and excitement around the club and there’s no question we will be seeing a lot of effort out there from North. North Melbourne to get the long awaited win by 15-points, and even if they don’t win, you can expect a loss by no more than 25-points. They will be a very competitive outfit.
North Melbourne vs Richmond betting tip:
Richmond still start strong favourites at $1.10 to North $6.50.

The Blues will have to outscore a very high scoring team in Geelong. This clash has the two best forward pairs in the competition facing off. With Charlie Curnow and Harry Mckay down one end, and Tom Hawkins and Jeremy Cameron down the other end.
Carlton vs Geelong prediction:
Again, a very tough prediction. Geelong looking for eight straight wins, just beat premiers Melbourne. Carlton defying odds, Curnow and McKay can kick a bag between them. Carlton to win by 10-points, but even if they don’t win, they won’t lose by more than 25-points.
