Crystal Palace v Brentford

A mid table clash sees teams who have 1 win and 2 draws take on each other in this mid-week round of matches.

Crystal Palace are coming off a loss against title favourites, Manchester City, while Bretford are coming off a disappointing draw against lowly Everton.

Both teams will be looking to bounce back from the disappointment of their last match.  Crystal Palace will be looking to their main goal outlet Wilfried Zaha to add to his 3 goals, while Brentford will be relying on Ivan Toney to add to his 2 assists so far this season.

The match will be on Optus Sports at 5am AEST on Wednesday 31st August.

Odds:   Crystal Palace 2.05

Draw 3.35

Brentford 3.65

Tip:  It is a clash between 2 fairly even teams who will both be looking behind them their previous match.  We are tipping a draw.

Fulham v Brighton

The newly promoted Fulham is at home to the surprise package of the league, Brighton.  Fulham has 1 win to their name this season along with 2 draws, while Brighton is unbeaten with 3 wins and 1 draw.

Brighton, who used to be home to Aussies Aaron Mooy and Matt Ryan, will be relying on Pascal Gross to continue his goal scoring form, while on the other end, they will need to defend against Serbian striker, Aleksandar Mitrovic who is currently equal second leading goal scorer on 4 goals for Fulham.  In the disciplinary side of the game, Joao Palhinha is already on 3 yellow cards in 4 matches for the season and will need to curb his aggression.

The match will be on Optus Sports at 5am AEST on Wednesday 31st August.

Odds:   Fulham 3.15

Draw 3.25

Brighton 2.30

Tip:  It is difficult not to back Brighton to continue their bright start to the season.  Too many question marks over Fulham here.

Southampton v Chelsea

An interesting clash between the inconsistent Southampton and the so far underwhelming Chelsea.

Southampton is coming off a disappointing and unexpected home loss to Manchester United, while Chelsea got up over Leicester despite having Connor Gallagher sent off.

The match will be on Optus Sports at 5:15am AEST on Wednesday 31st August.

Odds:   Southampton 5.00

Draw 4.10

Chelsea 1.62

Tip:  Despite the short odds, it is hard to go against Chelsea, who with their quality squad may have now found the form that is needed to challenge for the title.

Leeds United v Everton

The team in the leading pack is against the team in the relegation zone.  Leeds have made a great start to this season with 2 wins and 1 draw, while Everton are still winless with 2 draws after 4 matches.

Leeds will be looking towards Rodrigo Moreno to add to his goal tally and also relying on Jack Harrison to add to his 3 assists for the season.  They are coming off a loss to fellow surprise packet, Brighton so they will be eager to bounce back.

Everton have had a disappointing start and are already fearing relegation.  They are coming off a draw away to the mid table Brentford and will be looking for more improvement if they want to save their season.

The match will be on Optus Sports at 5:30am AEST on Wednesday 31st August.

Odds:   Leeds United 2.10

Draw 3.50

Everton 3.35

Tip:  We expect Leeds United to keep up their bright start to this season and playing at home, should be too strong against the out of form Everton.

Bournemouth v Wolves

This clash, while early in the season could be significant at the end of the season when it comes to the relegation battle as both teams are in the relegation zone.

Bournemouth has just the one win to their name but suffered a 9-0 thrashing against Liverpool, which would have damaged their confidence.

Wolves have been disappointing with only 2 draws to their name.  They will be looking to get their first win of the season against fellow strugglers.  Their last match was a draw against 7th placed Newcastle.

The match will be on Optus Sports at 5am AEST on Thursday 1st September.

Odds:   Bournemouth 3.50

Draw 3.30

Wolves 2.10

Tip:  We expect this to be the game where Wolves get their season back on track with an away win against a team who would still be recovering from the humiliation against Liverpool.

Manchester City v Nottingham Forest

Does any team have any chance against a team that contains players like Raheem Stirling, leading scorer Erling Haaland and midfield genius Kevin De Bruyne in their ranks?

Whilst Nottingham Forest have been decent in their return to the Premier League, they will find it tough against the title favourites.  They are coming off a home loss against Tottenham which suggests they will struggle against the stronger teams this season.

The match will be on Optus Sports at 5am AEST on Thursday 1st September.

Odds:   Manchester City 1.07

Draw 12.00

Nottingham Forest 26.00

Tip:  We believe the prices to be an accurate reflection of how we think the game will be.  Forest will be brave but won’t have enough artillery against the high flying Manchester City.  The price is quite short so it may be more suitable for adding to a multi bet.

Arsenal v Aston Villa

The league leaders with their perfect 4 wins from 4 matches, are at home to the team just above the relegation zone.

Arsenal stars such as Xhaka, Gabriel Jesus and Odegaard are in fine form and there is little to suggest their form will not continue.

Aston Villa meanwhile are coming off a home loss to the previously last placed West Ham.  They will be relying heavily on big name player Phillipe Coutinho to reverse the horrible form that they find themselves in.

The match will be on Optus Sports at 5am AEST on Thursday 1st September.

Odds:   Arsenal 1.44

Draw 4.60

Aston Villa 6.75

Tip:  We can’t see Arsenal tripping up at home to lowly Aston Villa.

West Ham v Tottenham

The Hammers finally got their first win of the season last start and will be looking to continue this run.  Pablo Fornals got the winner against Aston Villa and will be hoping to make it goals in consecutive matches.

They are against the team coming 3rd though, and it will be difficult to see Tottenham slipping up in this match.  After 3 wins and 1 draw, they remain one of five teams who have yet to taste defeat this season.  With players like Kane, Son and their new recruit Richarlson, it is no wonder they have made such a bright start.

The match will be on Optus Sports at 5:15am AEST on Thursday 1st September.

Odds:   West Ham 3.55

Draw 3.65

Tottenham 2.00

Tip:  We can’t see Tottenham losing to an out of form West Ham, especially with the quality on the pitch.  The price is great value for a team coming third to defeast a team just above the relegation zone.

Liverpool v Newcastle

An out of form Liverpool have bounced back into lethal form via their 9-0 trouncing of Bournemouth.  Luiz Diaz and Roberto Firmino both scored a brace each, while defender Virgil Van Dijk also got on the score sheet.  Firmino has also been helping out with assists.  It is safe to say, the reds have their confidence back and will be looking to make up for lost ground against the leading pack.

Newcastle have started the season positively and are yet to lose a match.  They have 1 win and 3 draws to their name but did finish with a draw against lowly Wolves in their last match.  They will need Allan Saint-Maximim to be firing on all cylinders if they want to be in with a chance.

The match will be on Optus Sports at 5:30am AEST on Thursday 1st September.

Odds:   Liverpool 1.29

Draw 5.50

Newcastle United 9.50

Tip:  This is the most difficult match of the round to pick.  Liverpool was ruthless in their last match but had been poor in previous matches.  Newcastle is undefeated so far, so their odds are very tempting.  However, we expect a draw here with Liverpool playing at home.

Leicester City v Manchester United

It has been an awful start to the season for Leicester who are in outright last spot with only a draw to their name this season so far.  It is difficult to imagine a team that has players of the calibre of Jamie Vardy could be struggling as badly as they are, but this is how the season has started for them.

Manchester United also had a poor start to the season and seem to have many issues off the pitch regarding the Glazer family and whether to keep Cristiano Ronaldo and whether they should sign Antony from Ajax.  However, despite all the negative publicity, they are in modest 8th spot with 2 wins for the season.

The match will be on Optus Sports at 5:30am AEST on Thursday 1st September.

Odds:   Leicester City 3.35

Draw 3.65

Manchester United 2.05

Tip:  We are tipping an upset here.  With the Manchester United club in the turmoil that they find themselves in, off the pitch and with Leicester desperate to string a few wins together to get their campaign going, we are predicting a Leicester City win and we believe the odds are great value.
