The Parramatta Eels upset the Queensland Cowboys 24-20 on Friday night to make it through to the 2022 NRL Grand Final.
The sides scored two tries each in the first half, with the scores 12 apeace at the half.
After a penalty from Valentine Holmes and a try from Murray Taulagi, the Cowboys appeared to be in a strong position, leading 20-12. Before Parramatta piled on the comeback, Reagan Campbell-Gillard pulling one try back in the 57th minute. The winning moment came from Maika Sivo in the 64th minute, who put the try down to send Parramatta into their first Grand Final in 13-years.
Parramatta will also be looking to break a 36-year premiership draught in Sundays Grand Final match up against Penrith. They lost the Qualifying Final to them, before bouncing back with a Semi Final victory, 40-4 over Canberra. Then earning their spot in the Grand Final with a thrilling four-point victory on Friday night.
The Penrith Panthers have earned their spot in the 2022 Grand Final, after defeating the South Sydney Rabbitohs 32-12 on Saturday night.
The sides scored two tries each in the first half, with the half time score locked up at 12 apiece.
Penrith took control in the second half, scoring the only three tries to seal their place in the Grand Final with a commanding 20-point victory.
Penrith are aiming for back to back titles and their third in club history, when they take on Parramatta in Sunday’s decider.
